Dream Keyboard Privacy Policy - English

This privacy policy explains how your personal data is handled when using the Dream Keyboard app.

Who developed the app?

I'm an independent app developer. If you have any privacy-related or other concerns about the app, feel free to contact me:

Malith Dasanayaka

• Facebook – https://www.facebook.com/malith.dasanayaka.511
• Email – malith.dreamkeyboard@gmail.com

What user data is collected by the app?

As the app developer, I do not collect any user data. However, some 3rd party services used to enable certain features in the app may collect data as described below.

Google Firebase Analytics & Crashlytics

These services are provided by Google to app developers. Please refer to their privacy policy for details on the data they collect and how it's handled:

• Firebase Privacy Policy – https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy

Voice Typing & Mic Permission

Mic permission is requested only for voice typing. (If you don’t use voice typing, it's is not required) This feature operates using Google's voice recognition service. Your voice input is sent to Google, and only the processed output text is returned to the app.

Clipboard Manager

Texts you copy are saved in Dream Keyboard's clipboard feature, allowing reuse later. These are saved locally on your device. The clipboard can only be accessed when your device is unlocked.

If you don’t want Dream Keyboard to save your clipboard data, you can turn off the Clipboard option.

Backup

Dream Keyboard allows backup of Themes, Settings, User Dictionary, and Recent Emojis. If the app is uninstalled and reinstalled (even on a different device), you can restore your previous setup. It also supports syncing data across multiple devices.

These backups are saved to your own Google Drive, under the Google account you select and authorize. These data can only be accessed by Dream Keyboard app when you grant the Drive permission. No one else, including other apps or individuals can't access them.

Personal Dictionary & Private Mode

New words you type are saved in Dream Keyboard's dictionary to offer suggestions the next time you type them. These words are stored locally on your device. To remove a saved word, long-press the suggestion when it appears and select ‘Remove’.

If you prefer not to save words, tap the private icon on the keyboard and enable Private Mode. In this mode, words you type will not be saved.

Internet Usage

The app uses internet connectivity for the following features:

• Download themes
• Use voice typing
• Use language translator
• Backup your data

Passwords & Bank Card Details

• Can Dream Keyboard read passwords or bank card details you type?
- Yes. Like any other keyboard app, it can technically read everything you type.

• Does Dream Keyboard collect such sensitive data?
- No. Sensitive data like passwords or card details are not saved in the app’s dictionary or collected in any form.

• What is the warning shown when enabling the keyboard?
"This input method may be able to collect all the text you type, including personal data like passwords and credit card numbers. It comes from the app Dream Keyboard. Use this input method?"

- This is the default warning shown by Android OS for all third-party keyboard apps. It means the app 'has the ability' to access sensitive data, not that it 'does'.

Device Permissions

The app requests Internet and Mic permission, and the purpose of these permissions are explained above. No other permissions are requested by the app.

However, some 3rd party services used (e.g., Analytics, Crashlytics) may request additional permissions. Refer to their privacy policies to know about the data they collect. (links are inlcuded above)

New Privacy Features

If you want any new privacy-related features added to Dream Keyboard, let me know. If possible, I’ll include them in future updates.
